Expressing gratitude, Yadav humbly stated, “I am a dedicated party worker. With your support, I will strive to fulfil my responsibilities.”

The decision followed discussions among BJP observers, including Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and others.

Mohan Yadav, associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, previously served as the Higher Education Minister in the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government.

This announcement comes ten days after the BJP’s triumphant victory in the Madhya Pradesh assembly election, securing 163 seats out of 230. Notably, it marked the BJP’s first election in two decades without a declared chief ministerial candidate. Prime Minister Narendra Modi supported the campaign with at least 14 rallies in the state.

Upon taking office, Mohan Yadav will be the fifth Chief Minister from the BJP in Madhya Pradesh, succeeding Sunderlal Patwa, Uma Bharti, Babulal Gaur, and Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who held the position for over 16 years.
